WTI Crude Slips Below $100 as Saudi Pipeline Restart Nears
West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil slipped below $100 per barrel on Thursday, down 1.8% from Wednesday's close of $105.83.
The dip was short-lived as WTI traded between $100.39 and $102.47 during the European morning, while Brent crude fell to $103.05, a 2.6% decline from its previous day's close.
The retreat follows a violent spike earlier in the week, with WTI reaching its highest close since May 19 at $105.83 on Tuesday and Brent hitting a high of $108.75.
Despite the decline, U.S. crude is still up 17% for September, with prices having rallied more than 20% earlier in the month before reversing course.
