Yanbu Crude Loadings Resume as Saudi Pipeline Partially Restarts
Saudi Arabia has resumed crude oil loadings at its Red Sea terminal in Yanbu after the partial restart of the East-West pipeline, which was disrupted by drone strikes on September 10. The pipeline allows Saudi Arabia to transport oil without passing through the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial waterway for global oil trade.
The East-West pipeline is expected to take several weeks to reach full capacity of around 4 million barrels per day. However, with crude loadings resuming at Yanbu and Al Muajjiz terminals, pressure on Middle East supplies has been alleviated.
Aramco, the Saudi state-controlled oil producer, informed customers about the October loading schedule at Yanbu. Satellite images indicate that around 10 million barrels of crude are being loaded at the terminals.
