Yemen's Armed Forces have continued their naval blockade of Saudi Arabia by targeting another oil tanker, this time the Saudi tanker Wafa off Yanbu in the northern Red Sea. The attack marks the eighth Saudi oil tanker to be struck since the blockade began on July 22.

Military spokesman Yahya Saree stated that the vessel was accurately hit and that Yemeni forces have successfully prevented 29 Saudi tankers from moving, forcing them to turn back to the Red Sea and Arabian Sea.

The naval blockade is being enforced in response to what Yemen sees as an 'unjust siege' imposed by Riyadh on their country. Saree emphasized that operations in the northern Red Sea will continue and expand until all passages are closed.
