Yemen's President Calls for Mobilization Against Houthi Attacks

Yemen's President Rashad Al-Alimi has called on all Yemenis to mobilize and join the armed forces in support of the government. In a speech, he urged citizens to 'engage in general mobilization and national mobilization' to counter the Houthi attacks.

The call comes after weeks of escalated attacks by the Houthis against Yemeni government forces and Saudi ships and territory. Al-Alimi offered a future general amnesty to Houthi fighters and affiliates who leave the group starting September 26.

This move is part of the efforts to counter the Iran-backed Houthi group, which has been targeting Saudi Arabia since July. The group's attacks have ended a years-long truce and declared a maritime blockade, hitting Saudi targets and aiming to stifle Saudi oil exports.
