Zaporizhzhia Farmer Secures Vital Accounting Support from VKF
A farmer from the Zaporizhzhia region received crucial accounting support from the All-Ukrainian Congress of Farmers (VKF), helping him navigate the complexities of running his farm during wartime. Volodymyr established his farm in 2022, leasing 50 hectares of land and using his own machinery. His family, including his father who was injured in military service, expanded the farm to 100 hectares, growing sunflowers, wheat, and vegetable seedlings. Initially managing accounting independently, they turned to an accounting company in 2025, which recommended reaching out to VKF.
Through the Ukrainian Agriculture Support Program, a collaboration between VKF and Prosper Global, the farm’s accounting services were covered for three months. This assistance was timely, as the farm faced a working capital shortage in early May, with the accounting company deferring payment until after the harvest. The farm currently lacks its own grain storage, complicating operations due to high elevator storage costs and challenging market conditions.
Volodymyr applied for grain bags through the state program “DAR,” awaiting results expected closer to winter. He emphasized the importance of subsidies, grants, and assistance in sustaining the farm, stating that without such support, small farmers like him might cease to exist. The VKF’s guidance and financial relief have been instrumental in helping the farm endure these difficult times.
