$1 Billion in Locked Value: Ondo Stocks Surpasses Milestone with Tokenized US Stocks
Ondo Stocks has reached a significant milestone by surpassing $1 billion in total value locked (TVL) just eight months after its launch. This achievement demonstrates the growing demand for tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs, as well as the increasing adoption of decentralized finance (DeFi) applications.
The platform offers over 260 blockchain-based tokens linked to the economic performance of U.S. stocks and exchange-traded funds (ETFs). These tokens are available on multiple blockchains, including Ethereum, Solana, and BNB Chain. Ondo Stocks provides direct minting and redemption for eligible non-U.S. users, with corresponding securities held at U.S.-registered broker-dealers.
The tokenized stocks offer total-return exposure, including dividends, but do not provide direct ownership rights in the underlying securities. They can be transferred and traded peer-to-peer 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The tokens can also be used in DeFi applications, such as lending.
According to Ian De Bode, president of Ondo Finance, 'Crossing $1 billion in total value locked is a validation of the thesis that global investors want access to U.S. capital markets through infrastructure that is more transparent, more accessible, and more efficient than the legacy system.'
