$1 Million Crypto Theft: Fired FBI Agent Arrested Over Alleged Inter-State Transfer
FBI Supervisory Agent Patrick Yaroch is accused of stealing around $1 million in cryptocurrency from digital accounts tied to a suspect in an overseas criminal investigation.
The alleged theft occurred between 2024 and 2025, with Yaroch making 10-12 withdrawals using passcodes obtained during the FBI's investigation into the suspect's accounts.
In an affidavit, it is reported that Yaroch told colleagues he was frustrated with the FBI's inability to act against 'adversarial cryptocurrency accounts.'
The agent has not been charged with stealing the cryptocurrency but is facing a charge of interstate transfer of stolen goods.
