$1 Million Offer Boosts Friend Token Price by 947% Amid Friend.tech Revival Hopes
Friend.tech's trading contracts have been owned by Ethereum's null address since September 2024, but Machi Big Brother has offered $1 million to buy the domain and its X account. The Taiwanese entrepreneur, who trades under the alias Machi Big Brother, posted his offer on Twitter, stating that he only needs the X account and URL to proceed with a potential community takeover (CTO) of Friend.tech.
Friend token (FRIEND) saw a massive surge in price after the post, rising 28-fold within an hour to $0.0878 from its pre-post price of $0.0031. The token's market capitalization increased to around $2.54 million by Thursday morning, up 947% over 24 hours.
The trading fees on friend.tech also saw a significant increase, with the platform collecting $4,509 in fees as of Thursday morning, its highest total since October 31, 2025. The reserve backing outstanding keys on FriendSharesV1 still holds 924.93 ETH, worth around $2.33 million at current prices.
Racer and Paradigm, the co-founders and lead investor of SocialFi app friend.tech, have not publicly responded to Machi Big Brother's offer yet. Huang replied to criticisms from NFT collector seedphrase, stating that a community takeover would be a 'community effort' and that he doesn't need to sell the token to buy Friendtech.
