$1 Trump Coins Go on Sale as Part of US 250th Anniversary Celebration
The US Mint has made available for purchase collector rolls and bags of $1 gold coins featuring President Donald Trump's face, as part of the nation's 250th anniversary celebration. The coins were minted in Philadelphia and have a circulating finish, but they have not been released into general circulation.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced the coin in July, calling it an effort to honor 'the enduring legacy of liberty and a lasting symbol of patriotism.' The front side features Trump's portrait, along with the inscriptions 'LIBERTY,' 'IN GOD WE TRUST' and '1776 ~ 2026.'
The reverse side features the Presidential Seal: an eagle holding an olive branch and a bundle of arrows, with a shield bearing the number '250' for the nation's semiquincentennial. It also includes 'UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,' 'ONE DOLLAR' and 'E PLURIBUS UNUM.'
The coins are priced from $61 to $154.50 in collector 25-coin rolls and 100-coin bags. Additionally, 250,000 coins bearing a special 'July 4th' privy mark were struck on Independence Day and randomly included in the rolls and bags.
