$1,000 in Gold vs. Bitcoin: Which Asset Reigns Supreme After a Decade?
Investing in gold and Bitcoin over the past decade has yielded vastly different results. On September 9, 2016, both assets were trading at around $1,000. A decade later, a $1,000 investment in gold would have grown to approximately $3,313.
In contrast, the same amount invested in Bitcoin would have exploded to $126,000, a return of 12,600%.
Gold's performance pales in comparison to Bitcoin's growth, with the cryptocurrency returning 38 times more than the precious metal. Despite experiencing significant drawdowns, including one as high as 70%, Bitcoin still outperformed gold.
