$100M Tainted Investment Links Trump-Backed WLFI to Money Laundering Suspect

Share

A Chinese businessman, Guren 'Bobby' Zhou, is under investigation in the United Kingdom for money laundering and has ties to a $100 million investment in WLFI, a decentralized finance platform co-founded by the Trump family.

The transaction was executed on June 26 through the Aqua1 Foundation, headquartered in the United Arab Emirates. Up to $75 million of this capital flowed to entities controlled by the Trump family and affiliates of Zach Witkoff, the project's co-founder.

Zhou met with Eric Trump in Dubai to discuss the investment and described it as an entry into the 'Trump family crypto venture.' However, there is no public evidence linking the specific funds from the purchase to laundering activity.
