$1.07 Billion Credit Facility Secured by Hut 8 for AI Data Center Expansion
Hut 8, a leading Bitcoin miner and AI data center investor, has secured a $1.07 billion credit facility to expand its AI data center business.
The four-year agreement provides Hut 8 with financing capacity for infrastructure development costs tied to AI data centers, including power-grid interconnection deposits and equipment supplier payments.
This move is expected to ease the upfront cash burden in the early stages of projects. Hut 8 must maintain liquidity equal to at least 40% of the total credit line from March 2027 onwards, with this threshold later falling to 25%.
The company has not drawn any funds under the facility as of September 24, when the agreement was finalized.
