$1.3 Billion Lost as Crypto Services Face Surge in Cyberattacks
Crypto services have faced a surge in cyberattacks this year, resulting in losses of $1.3 billion. According to experts from Shard, the number of attacks increased by 2.5 times compared to last year.
This increase is attributed to the growing adoption of digital assets and the lack of security on some platforms. Alexey Gorelkin, an information security expert, notes that crypto exchanges and asset owners are not yet prepared for such pressure, making them vulnerable to attacks.
The most notable recent cases include the hack on Grinex crypto exchange in Kyrgyzstan, where attackers withdrew $14 million from 54 wallets. Experts also point out that the development of artificial intelligence has made it easier for criminals to find vulnerabilities and attack complex systems.
