$14.89: Retail Investors Take Profits as Chainlink Soars
Chainlink ($LINK) has rebounded strongly in price, rising to $14.89 after falling below $7 in June. According to on-chain analytics platform Santiment, this recent surge may be a sign that some retail investors are taking profits. The number of Chainlink wallets with balances above zero has dropped to 912,020, which could indicate profit-taking by smaller investors.
Santiment's data shows that despite the price increase, the total investor base for Chainlink is near its all-time highs after steady growth throughout 2026. This suggests that while some individual investors may be taking profits, others are still entering or increasing their positions in the altcoin.
The project has also experienced significant developments in its technical infrastructure, including the release of CCIP 2.0, which provides applications with greater control over cross-chain security mechanisms. The total transaction volume over Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) network has exceeded $24 billion to date.
