The Deribit platform will see a massive expiration of Bitcoin options contracts worth $15.6 billion on September 25, according to Woofun AI. This event is significant because it involves approximately 182,000 BTC and has intensified market volatility due to the large notional value of contract settlements.

With Bitcoin trading near $85,000, the structure of derivatives positions will be closely scrutinized by the market. The largest open interest is at the $70,000 strike price, with call options dominating at 106,200 contracts and put options standing at 75,900, resulting in a put-to-call ratio of 0.71.

The $70,000 level has become the central battleground between bulls and bears; at this price point, call options represent 8,705 Bitcoins, and put options account for 7,653. The Deribit platform's calculated maximum loss point is at $76,000, meaning that at this price, most options would expire worthless.
