$1.7 Million Crypto Heist Hits Maya Protocol's Cross-Chain Network

Share

Maya Protocol's cross-chain network has been halted following an attack that saw an estimated $1.7 million in crypto assets stolen.

The attacker exploited six linked software flaws, using a single transaction containing 23 messages to execute the sequence.

About $1.36 million was moved to external blockchains, while another $291,000 remained under the attacker's control.

Aalux, Maya Protocol's pseudonymous co-founder, said that the attack triggered an incorrect theft-detection mechanism before manipulating a pool with limited liquidity.
