$2 Million Scam Hits Wallets Through Fake GIWA Blockchain

A fake blockchain mimicking GIWA's planned Ethereum Layer 2 mainnet scammed about $2 million in Ether (ETH) from around 1,333 wallets.

The counterfeit network included an RPC endpoint, a cross-chain bridge with Chain ID 9134, and drew deposits before nearly all the funds were removed in a single transaction of about 766 ETH.

GIWA Sepolia is currently available as a testnet using Chain ID 91342, while its mainnet remains under development. A chain ID can identify a network to a wallet but does not confirm who controls its RPC endpoint, bridge, or contracts.
