21Shares Brings Europe's First Zcash ETP and Ether.fi Product to Market
21Shares has launched Europe's first Zcash exchange-traded product (ETP), allowing investors to gain exposure to the cryptocurrency through traditional brokerage accounts. The ETP, which tracks the price of Zcash, is listed on Euronext in France and the Netherlands.
The company also introduced an Ether.fi ETP, which tracks the governance and utility token of decentralized finance protocol Ether.fi. This product is physically backed and trades on Euronext Paris and Amsterdam.
Both products carry a 2.5% annual management fee, higher than many Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH) investment products in Europe.
Zcash has seen significant growth over the past year, increasing by about 1,100% to above $1,500, according to CoinMarketCap. This surge has drawn attention to Zcash as a potential alternative to Bitcoin, with some analysts suggesting it may be able to overcome Bitcoin's strong network effects.
Fortitude Digital Mining has been actively mining Zcash, citing its proof-of-work model, limited total supply, and privacy features as reasons for its focus on the token.
