21Shares Cites Regulatory Clarity and Institutional Access as Key Drivers for XRP
Swiss-based asset manager 21Shares has made a strong case for investing in XRP, citing regulatory clarity and growing institutional access as key factors. The report highlights that the favorable outcome of Ripple's years-long battle with the US Securities and Exchange Commission has improved the regulatory environment for XRP.
According to 21Shares, the conclusion in August 2025 removed a major compliance obstacle for institutions, giving them clearer treatment under the new SEC tenure. This is reflected in the increasing institutional access, with several spot XRP ETFs hitting Wall Street last November and attracting over $1 billion in just a month and a half.
The report also notes that XRP Ledger has processed close to $500 billion in on-chain value during the past 12 months. Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin has expanded from a market cap of $72 million to $1.6 billion in less than two years, and tokenized assets on XRPL have grown substantially, recently hitting $4 billion.
21Shares argues that XRP provides one of the more regulated and institutionally connected ways for investors to gain exposure to the trend of global finance moving on-chain. However, the investment case still depends on adoption eventually translating into actual demand for the underlying asset, which continues to struggle against the $1.40 resistance.
