X Tackles Crypto Spam with New API Rules and Smart Cashtags

Share

X, a social media platform, is taking steps to curb spam and harassment in its crypto community by blocking apps that use 'claim your fees' models.

Nikita Bier, X's product manager, stated that these types of apps create incentives for users to engage in unwanted behavior, degrading the experience for millions of people.

X plans to update its API policies to prevent fee pools from being created for non-consenting users and will block any apps that attempt to do so.

The platform is also preparing to launch Smart Cashtags, a feature that will allow users to trade stocks and cryptocurrencies directly from the timeline.
