21Shares Launches Polkadot Staking ETF with New TDOT Ticker
Crypto asset manager 21Shares is expanding its staking-related offerings by rebranding its existing Polkadot exchange-traded fund (ETF) as the Polkadot Staking ETF. The new ticker TDOT has been registered with the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC), and the changes are set to take effect on August 27.
The Polkadot Staking ETF directly holds spot DOT tokens and stakes between 40% and 95% of its holdings through validators, generating staking yields that will be distributed to shareholders quarterly. This approach allows investors to earn passive income from their crypto exposure without needing to manage validators themselves.
The move reflects a growing trend among asset managers to incorporate staking features into digital asset funds, as demand for yield-generating products in the crypto space continues to rise. By integrating staking into an ETF structure, 21Shares is offering investors a regulated vehicle to participate in staking without the technical complexity.
