Ethena Repurchases Locked Tokens to Bolster ENA Price
Ethena, a blockchain-based platform, has reshaped its tokenomics by repurchasing locked ENA tokens from several major seed investors. This move aims to reduce future selling pressure and ease monthly investor unlock pressure.
The Ethena Foundation accelerated the remaining investor vesting schedule, which could minimize the impact of investor unlocks on the market. About 12% of locked and unvested ENA remains tied to team, ecosystem, and Foundation allocations.
Ethena has also revised its protocol economic framework, directing more economic value toward the Foundation, ecosystem, and token holders as USDe supply grows. The new framework will allocate residual profit, economic upside, and proceeds from any future business sale to the Foundation and ecosystem.
