21Shares Renews Polkadot ETF as Staking Vehicle
21Shares, a leading crypto asset manager, has rebranded its existing Polkadot ETF to the Polkadot Staking ETF and registered the new ticker TDOT with the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC). The change is set to take effect on August 27.
The renamed fund will hold spot DOT tokens and stake between 40% and 95% of its holdings through validators, earning staking rewards that are distributed to shareholders quarterly. This approach provides investors with a regulated vehicle to earn passive income from their crypto exposure without needing to manage validators themselves.
By incorporating staking into an ETF structure, 21Shares is catering to the growing demand for yield-generating products in the crypto space. The DTCC registration is a key step in the ETF approval and listing process, preparing the ticker for potential trading on major exchanges.
