$2.7 Billion in Crypto Losses This Year, Mostly Due to Bitget and Liquid Network Breaches
Crypto security incidents have resulted in losses of nearly $2.7 billion so far this year, according to blockchain security firm CertiK.
The adjusted loss figure is lower due to some of the stolen assets being frozen or returned, but still stands at around $2.26 billion.
This represents an average loss of about $4.1 million per incident, with September experiencing the highest losses of any month so far in 2026, totaling over $766.5 million.
The five largest incidents account for almost 59% of total losses, with Bitget's breach being the most significant at $387.5 million, followed by Liquid Network's incident at $318.7 million and others.
