$275M Bond Raise Signals New Use Case for XRP: Collateral for Corporate Financing

Ripple Prime, formerly known as Hidden Road, has reportedly raised $275 million in a private bond sale that may signal a new use for XRP.

According to analyst Mickle, the bond raise could mark a shift towards using XRP as collateral for corporate financing, rather than selling tokens on the market. This would allow Ripple to retain exposure to XRP's price while obtaining cash for acquisitions or growth plans.

Mickle pointed out that traditional finance hires, such as a former Mastercard executive, are joining Ripple, and compared XRP's current price structure with its move from $0.30 to $3.50 during the 2024-2025 rally. He also highlighted increased network activity accompanying the price action.

However, Mickle noted that the details of the bond sale, such as how much XRP was pledged and valued, are not publicly disclosed. This raises questions about whether the financing materially changes Ripple's balance-sheet flexibility.
