$30 Million Crypto Ad Campaign Targets Sherrod Brown in Ohio Senate Race

Share

The crypto industry is taking aim at Democratic Ohio Senate candidate Sherrod Brown with a $30 million ad campaign, according to reports. The move comes after Brown's past attempts to regulate the industry as chairman of the Senate Banking Committee.

Brown was opposed by cryptocurrency firms and their affiliated political groups in his 2024 re-election bid, which many believe the crypto industry influenced. Donald Trump won Ohio by 11 percentage points that year, while Brown lost to Republican candidate Bernie Moreno by just 3 1/2 percentage points.

The leading crypto political action committee, Fairshake, has announced plans to spend at least $30 million to support Sen. Jon Husted and oppose Brown in the upcoming election.
