$30 Million Crypto Campaign Targets Ohio Senate Candidate Sherrod Brown

The crypto industry is launching a massive $30 million campaign against Democratic Ohio Senate candidate Sherrod Brown, according to reports. The spending comes after the Clarity Act stalled in the Senate last week.

Fairshake, an industry-backed super PAC, plans to begin the campaign on Tuesday with advertising and direct mail targeting Brown. This marks Fairshake's biggest midterm push yet and follows the group's reassessment of its political strategy after the failed Senate vote on crypto market structure legislation.

Brown, a former senator and longtime crypto skeptic, is challenging Republican Sen. Jon Husted in a closely watched Ohio Senate race. The crypto PAC previously spent $41 million targeting Brown during the 2024 election when he chaired the Senate Banking Committee.
