$30M+ Stolen Crypto Linked to North Korea Routed Through Hyperliquid
North Korean hackers have been using Hyperliquid's decentralized trading platform to launder over $30 million in stolen cryptocurrency, as recently as August 30. The funds were moved through Wallets tied to North Korea's sanctioned Lazarus Group before reaching centralized exchanges like KuCoin and Kraken.
This activity highlights the challenge for US regulators considering allowing Hyperliquid to operate legally in the US, given its permissionless design that lacks traditional identity checks.
