$351.6M Hot-Wallet Attack Hits Bitget Exchange

Crypto exchange Bitget was hit by a hot-wallet attack on September 25th at 4:31 am AEST, resulting in $351.6 million being transferred without authorization.

The incident was detected by the exchange's security systems, and CEO Gracy Chen put out a notice on X saying that the emergency response team had been activated.

Chen stated that only hot and warm wallets were affected, while cold wallets 'remain fully secure', and user funds remain untouched.

Withdrawals have been suspended for all users while the exchange carries out a security review, though deposits and trading continue as normal.
