$351M Unauthorised Transfer Hit Bitget Hot Wallets

Bitget, a cryptocurrency exchange, has confirmed that unauthorised transfers affected approximately $351.6 million from some of its hot wallets.

The incident occurred at 18:31 UTC on September 24 and Bitget detected the transfers through emergency response procedures.

'User funds are safe,' said Bitget in its security notice, although withdrawals were temporarily suspended while the exchange reviewed the incident and investigated the affected transfers.

Bitget stated that part of its hot and warm wallet layers were affected, but cold wallets remained secure.
