$387.5M Hack: Bitget Updates Loss Estimate Amid Investigation

Bitget's hack has resulted in an estimated loss of $387.5 million, a significant increase from the initial estimate of $351.6 million.

The exchange attributed the revised figure to previously uncounted Zcash and TRON transfers, not another attack.

CEO Gracy Chen stated that attackers forged transfer information and triggered the authorization-signing process, rather than compromising private keys.

A preliminary investigation points towards North Korean involvement, citing IP and VPN patterns resembling those associated with a North Korean group, but this attribution is still speculative.
