39 US State Banking Groups Unite for Blockchain Network Launch in 2027

Share

Thirty-nine U.S. state banking associations have formed BankChain Alliance to build a common blockchain network for tokenized deposits, stablecoins, smart payments, and automated settlement.

The alliance is targeting a 2027 launch and aims to give community and regional banks a stake in infrastructure that might otherwise be controlled by large banks, core-technology vendors, or crypto companies.

BankChain's network will support tokenized deposits, stablecoins, smart payments, and automated settlement, with the goal of making it interoperable with other systems. The alliance is still selecting a technology partner and plans to make the network available for banks across the country to become owners.
