$44M ETH Moved: Drift Protocol Exploiter Breaks Silence

The Drift Protocol exploit wallet has broken its three-month silence, moving $44.4 million in Ethereum into Tornado Cash.

The transactions, flagged by on-chain sleuths on July 23, saw the Drift Exploiter 4 address deposit tens of millions of dollars worth of Ether into the sanctioned privacy mixer after nearly a full quarter of silence.

The exploiter still controls $201 million in Ethereum and has sent test transfers to Bybit exchange, indicating potential larger off-ramp attempts. On-chain teams are tracing outflows, with centralised exchanges alerted to watch for deposits as the recovery window for stolen funds narrows with the exploiter's renewed activity.
