4,500 BTC Stash Worth $378M Reactivated After Four-Year Hiatus
A significant Bitcoin stash has been moved to a new address for the first time in four years. The 4,500 BTC was transferred on September 25, 2026, with a transaction fee of 1,303 satoshis, or about $1.10. The coins had not been touched since April 2022.
The stash was worth around $378 million at the time of transfer, based on a Bitcoin price of approximately $84,000. The coins were first seen in August 2019 and remained on the same address until being moved to the new one this week.
This transaction is part of a larger trend of reactivated decade-old coins. A wallet from July 2012 recently moved 600 BTC, bringing the two-week total of reactivated coins to 1,971 BTC. Meanwhile, Binance's reserves have decreased from around 705,000 BTC to about 689,000 BTC this month.
