$550 Million in Tether Frozen Over Iran-Linked USDT

Tether has frozen nearly $550 million in Tether (USDT) linked to Iran this year due to U.S. sanctions enforcement.

The freezes included more than $344 million in April, following information provided by U.S. authorities about wallets tied to unlawful activity.

Tether also froze over $130 million in July after U.S. sanctions action involving Iran-linked wallets.

The company has coordinated with U.S. authorities in the actions and uses its freezing mechanism aligned with the U.S. Specially Designated Nationals list, which identifies individuals, companies, and addresses subject to sanctions.
