$560,000 Crypto Seized from Hamas Fundraising Network by US Authorities
The US Department of Justice and FBI have taken action against Hamas' fundraising operations by seizing over $560,000 in cryptocurrency. The authorities also took control of websites, domains, and servers used to collect and transfer funds for the group.
According to a September 1 announcement by the DOJ and FBI, investigators traced obfuscated wallet addresses through transactions made in 2025 under three seizure warrants.
The action is part of US efforts to disrupt cryptocurrency channels used by Hamas to raise money. The investigation identified thousands of people who contacted Hamas online, highlighting the risks associated with crypto security.
