$560K in Crypto Seized, Websites Taken Down in Anti-Hamas Operation
Federal investigators have seized over $560,000 in cryptocurrency and taken control of websites and servers allegedly used by Hamas to collect donations and recruit supporters online.
The Department of Justice (DOJ) targeted fundraising infrastructure associated with the Al Qassam Brigades, Hamas' military wing. The group is designated as a foreign terrorist organization by the US.
U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro called it 'a massive blow' to Hamas and emphasized that 'your networks are not secure, your crypto is vulnerable, and we will not stop until your ability to wage war is defeated.'
