$589K USDT Frozen for Over 50 Days Amid Zodl and NEAR Intents Compliance Review
A $589,000 USDT stash has been frozen for over 50 days after a Zcash holder executed a swap on the Zodl platform and routed the funds to the NEAR Intents infrastructure.
The incident occurred on July 20 when the user swapped 1,120 ZEC held in the Zodl mobile wallet's shielded pool into USDT. The resulting funds were transferred to an Ethereum address provided by NEAR Intents, where the transaction stalled despite receiving onchain confirmation.
The complainant, identified as 'timtech' on the official Zcash forum, stated that the funds originated from legitimate activity within the platform. The user submitted screenshots and transaction hashes, and offered to sign cryptographic messages to verify ownership of the involved addresses.
Initially, customer support flagged the case as a temporary administrative hold subject to anti-money laundering (AML) review. However, two days later on July 23, support notified the user that the compliance check had cleared and authorized the release of the assets. Yet, transaction records show that the payout was never executed.
