$660,000 Tokenized Dinosaur Skull Sale on Solana Attracts Over $400,000
Solana's co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko highlighted a unique fundraising campaign on his Twitter account, promoting a tokenized dinosaur skull sale.
The project, called Jurassic Finance, aims to raise $660,000 in USDC by tokenizing a 66-million-year-old Triceratops prorsus skull named Deaton. The funds will be used to acquire the fossil for $600,000 and place it on long-term museum loan.
The offer has already attracted $406,667 in commitments, representing about 61% of its target. However, the project's dashboard shows that contributors will receive a full refund if the target is not met within the next 13 hours.
Jurassic Finance plans to split the fossil into one million TRCH1 tokens, with each token costing around $0.69 and representing one-millionth of Deaton. The ownership structure runs through a special purpose vehicle, granting holders economic rights to the fossil rather than direct title to it.
