$7 Million Theft Rocks Duelbits Crypto Platform
Crypto platform Duelbits has taken its site offline after a $7 million theft from its hot wallets. Co-founder Joe confirmed that user funds are safe, but the exact circumstances of the attack are under investigation.
The incident occurred on September 24, and Blockchain security company Scam Sniffer detected funds being sent from Duelbits' hot wallets on Ethereum, BNB Chain, and Tron to newly created addresses.
According to Etherscan data, within minutes of the theft, 836 ETH, approximately $593,000 USDT, 97,000 USDC, 31,500 DAI, and 12.4 billion SHIB were sent from an Ethereum wallet labeled Duelbits to an attacker's address.
The stolen funds were later converted to ETH and consolidated in a new address, which held about $6 million at the time of CoinDesk's report. The platform will remain offline until the investigation is complete and the hot wallets are funded again.
