$84.2M Seized From Capstone Tied to Tether Transactions
US authorities are seeking to confiscate $84.2 million from Capstone Ltd., a Montana-based company accused of using its accounts for Tether transactions.
The funds, which were withdrawn from Wells Fargo Securities and JPMorgan Chase accounts, total 79.11 million, with an additional $2.06 million and $1.86 million withdrawn from the same banks' accounts.
Capstone's owners, Kotaro Shimogori and Mary Jeanne Thompson, deny any wrongdoing and hope to resolve the matter quickly.
Tether has estimated its liability at less than 0.034% of group assets, which amounts to nearly $187.75 billion.
