AARP Sounds Alarm on Crypto Kiosk Scams

Share

As lawmakers prepare for the next legislative session, advocates are calling for stronger protections against cryptocurrency fraud. The AARP has expressed concern about cryptocurrency kiosks that allow users to convert cash into digital currency and transfer funds quickly.

The associate state director of advocacy and outreach at AARP Texas, Andrea Earl, spoke about the issue. She noted that these kiosks can be vulnerable to scams, putting older Texans at risk.

Lawmakers are expected to address this issue in the upcoming session, but no specific proposals have been announced yet.
