Aave Brings Tokenized US Tech Stocks to DeFi Lending
Aave has introduced tokenized U.S. tech stocks into decentralized finance (DeFi) lending, allowing eligible investors to borrow against their stock exposure without selling it.
The feature, available on Aave V4's Equities Hub on Base, enables users to deposit tokenized shares of seven major U.S. technology companies as collateral for USDC loans.
Supported assets include AAPLc (Apple), AMZNc (Amazon), GOOGLc (Alphabet), METAc (Meta), MSFTc (Microsoft), NVDAc (Nvidia), and TSLAc (Tesla).
The tokenized shares are issued by Coinbase Onchain SPV Ltd. and represent certificates tied to underlying shares held at Alpaca Securities in segregated custody.
Aave uses Chainlink's pricing information to value collateral, which is updated 24/7 except during weekends and U.S. market holidays when the feeds retain their last published values.
