Aave is making significant changes to its DeFi lending markets by deprecating 50 low-adoption asset reserves and winding down deployments on six blockchains.

The impacted assets are worth around $98.1 million in supply and $15.6 million in debt, according to a post on X from founder Stani Kulechov.

This move is aimed at improving capital efficiency and protocol health in the crypto lending ecosystem through two new internal rulebooks that will prevent unused assets from being carried by the protocol.
