Aave founder Stani Kulechov has expressed disappointment and concern over recent European regulatory positions on stablecoin yield and decentralized finance (DeFi).

The European Central Bank (ECB) and European Banking Authority (EBA) have argued that stablecoin-yield restrictions should cover indirect returns generated through lending, borrowing, and staking.

Kulechov questions how these requirements would work in practice, warning that they could lead to 'more walled gardens' and limit access to open DeFi protocols.
