Aave Founder Challenges Morpho's Vault Control Proposal

Aave founder Stani Kulechov has challenged Morpho's proposed vault classifications, questioning whether allocation safeguards justify describing certain products as non-custodial.

The dispute centers on whether curator discretion remains compatible with users retaining control over their capital. Morpho's framework distinguishes vaults by their allocation rules, management permissions, and withdrawal protections.

Kulechov argued that a timelock alone should not validate a vault's non-custodial status. He specifically challenged arrangements allowing curators to introduce markets outside a depositor's original allocation mandate.
