Aave Price Climbs Toward $200 as Burn Talks Fuel Breakout
Aave's price has been climbing, reaching an intraday high of $187.50 on October 2, with the $200 level now within reach as daily momentum strengthens. The price has climbed toward $182 after reaching the intraday high, with $187.50 marking immediate resistance. Aave's existing buyback program has a $50 million annual budget, with weekly purchases ranging from $250,000 to $1.75 million, and acquired AAVE going to the DAO's Ecosystem Reserve for governance-approved uses.
The proposed burn of repurchased tokens would remove them from supply, while the current reserve model retains them for uses including staking rewards, grants, and service-provider payments. This change is under consideration for Aavenomics 3.0. The launch of tokenized-stock collateral on Aave V4 has also contributed to the price increase, with seven Coinbase tokenized stocks now available as collateral.
Analyst Michaël van de Poppe has compared the current rise to the buildup before AAVE's late-2024 breakout toward $400, suggesting that a similar period could be seen in the fourth quarter. However, a breakout above $200 would require a sustained move through the next immediate barrier, with the 4-hour trend remaining strong above $168.
