Aave Price Surges 16% Amid Tokenomics Shift and Tokenized Stocks Expansion
Aave's price surged more than 16% in a sudden move as traders react to the expansion of its tokenized-equity lending market and renewed discussion around AAVE's tokenomics.
The rally pushed AAVE toward $166, extending a sharp recovery from its September lows. This comes after Aave V4 on Base launched its Equities Hub, allowing eligible non-U.S. users to deposit seven Coinbase-issued tokenized U.S. stocks as collateral and borrow USDC against them.
The initial lineup includes Apple, Amazon, Alphabet, Meta, Microsoft, Nvidia, and Tesla. The stock tokens are collateral-only at launch, while USDC is the sole borrowable asset. Chainlink provides the onchain pricing infrastructure for the tokenized equities.
A potential burn mechanism has also entered the conversation, with Aave founder Stani Kulechov hinting at adding AAVE burns to its existing buyback program under Aavenomics 3.0.
