Aave Price Surges Despite Security Incident, Eyes $200 Target
Aave's price has increased by 27.60% in the past week, reaching a market capitalization of approximately $2.79 billion. This growth comes despite a security incident involving an Ethereum module linked to leveraged positions. The exploit exposed weaknesses in a custom Safe module and resulted in losses of around $305,000. However, the incident has not dented Aave's technical momentum, as it continues to trade above all four major daily exponential moving averages.
Open interest in Aave derivatives has rebounded to $482.72 million, signaling renewed activity in the market. Positive exchange flows and rising volume also point to improving demand for Aave tokens. The technical picture suggests Aave maintains a strong bullish trend, with a 20-day EMA at $150.27 and a 50-day EMA at $132.91.
Aave faces immediate resistance around $187.28, its latest swing high. A breakout could bring the psychological $190-$200 region into focus. However, failure to maintain $171.56 could expose the $159.21 support level and the $150.54-$150.27 region.
