Aave Seeks to Streamline Reserves, Discontinue Services on Six Blockchain Networks
Aave, a popular decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol, has proposed a governance plan to remove underutilized assets from its reserves and discontinue services on six smaller blockchain networks.
The proposal, which was disclosed by Aave founder Stani Kulechov, affects approximately $98.10 million in deposited assets and $15.60 million in outstanding debt.
The decision is based on a review conducted by risk services firm LlamaRisk using Aave's newly presented risk framework, which aims to filter out reserves that lack sufficient activity to maintain price oracles, liquidation infrastructure, and continuous risk monitoring.
